ABOUT ANNUAL FORAGE
Rainfall Index Program
The Annual Forage program provides coverage against unusually low rainfall for acreage that is planted each year and grown for the use of grain/grazing, grazing/green chop, grazing, grazing/haying, green chop, haying or silage. It is only available for annually planted crops and designed to protect against a the lack of precipitation only.
How We Do It
Available for producers in Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota & Texas
Available index intervals are divided into 12 growing seasons based on planting dates. The same acreage cannot be planted and insured in growing seasons with the same index intervals in the same crop year.
The only Sales Closing Date for Annual Forage is July 15.
